Restore a backup

Restoring replaces everything on this device with the contents of a backup — use it on a new device, or to roll back after a problem.

Restore a backup

1. Go to Instellingen → Versleutelde backup.
2. Tap Backup terugzetten.
3. Pick the backup archive (boeq opens your Boeq Backups iCloud folder by default).
4. Enter the backup password.
5. Confirm at Huidige gegevens overschrijven? by tapping Terugzetten.
6. When it finishes, reopen the app to continue.

Caution

Restoring replaces every company, boeking, factuur and bon on this device with the backup’s contents. Anything added after that backup was made is lost. Make a fresh backup first if you’re unsure.

Check a backup without restoring

Want to be sure an archive is still good? Tap Verifieer back-up, pick the file and enter the password. boeq checks the contents against the archive’s manifest without changing anything on your device, and reports that the backup is intact.

Forgot your password?

There is no recovery. boeq encrypts everything with your master password, the password never leaves your device, and no copy exists on a server. Your options are to restore a different backup whose password you do know, or to reinstall boeq and start fresh. This is by design — it’s what keeps your data private.
