Your first company

Before you can make invoices, you record your eenmanszaak in boeq. Each business gets its own encrypted bookkeeping file on your device.

  1. Open boeq. On first launch you reach Nieuw bedrijf aanmaken.
  2. Fill in Bedrijfsnaam (your business name).
  3. Fill in your KvK-nummer (the 8-digit number from your Kamer van Koophandel registration).
  4. Fill in your BTW-id (the VAT identification number that belongs on your invoices, e.g. NL001234567B01).
  5. Optionally add your IBAN and pick when your boekjaar (financial year) starts — the default is 1 January.
  6. Optionally set Beginsaldo bank (your opening bank balance).
  7. Tap Aanmaken.

If you take part in the Kleineondernemersregeling (KOR), enable KOR toepassen op nieuwe facturen. boeq then issues invoices without BTW and tracks your turnover against the €20,000 threshold. Leave it off if you charge BTW normally.

Everything you enter is stored encrypted on your own device — not in the cloud. So make a backup regularly via iCloud Drive, so you lose nothing if your device breaks or you move to a new one. See Make a backup.
